Sudden changes in temperature or a dry atmosphere can make your cough worse, so humidify the room by placing a bowl of water in front of a radiator. Drink plenty of fluids to keep your throat lubricated. If you are coughing up green phlegm or you cough up any blood, then it is important that you seek medical advice immediately.
